FriendChip
F18 Cohort Spotlights
Meet Jack and Chris — two roommates (since sophomore year) who decided to start a map-based social networking app that make casual and spontaneous meetups with your friends easy, frequent, and straightforward!
With FriendChip, users can invite their friends to activities they will be doing later in the day by placing a “chip” on the map. For instance, if you’re going to the gym, the library or anywhere else on campus, FriendChip makes it easier for your friends to join you. Their goal as a team is to be able to help their users socialize more with their friends in real life.
We decided to select Jack and Chris for our F18 Cohort because of their great team dynamics. They are both motivated, driven and passionate about their goal. But they are not planning to stop anytime soon. Some of their next milestones include…
- Launching on campus starting in Winter quarter! Although they have not launched, you can already check them out on the app store! If you run a student group or are interested to spread the word, do get in touch with Jack or Chris :)
- In the next few years, they want FriendChip to spread beyond Stanford and to be the go-to method for meeting up with friends.
- Their next milestones are improving their application as it gets into your hands and grow their user base at Stanford and beyond.
