Orbis
F18 Cohort Spotlights
Meet the Orbis — a team looking to revolutionize the financial technology industry.
Orbis is an app that lets you easily find, compare, and use financial products. This ranges from credit cards and savings accounts to investments, allowing our users to make better and more informed financial decisions. With the tap of a button, you can activate all of the recommended financial services, making it easier than ever to set your finances straight.
The team’s goal is empowering people to make sound decisions about financial services without the pain of learning about different types of products, comparing products with complicated terms, and submitting lots of duplicate information for each application.
They are in the process of launching an initial version of their product, with a goal of being ready for investment and user growth by the end of the Cardinal Ventures program. Over the longer term, the Orbis team wants to grow into a platform where their users can easily activate and use all kinds of financial instruments, ranging from easily setting up automatic transfers between savings and investments to asset management algorithms that allow you to invest smarter.
About the team
They are not only developing the future of fintech, the Orbis team has a very interesting story. In our conversation, they said:
As Computer Science students at Stanford University, we are technical co-founders who love testing our ideas by building prototypes and talking to our users. We met while working at the Stanford Computer Forum two years ago and began working on ideas in the fintech space a few months later, finally landing on the idea for Orbis this past summer.
